COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — President Joe Biden is heading to Ohio on Tuesday to tout the benefits of the $1.9 trillion pandemic relief plan.

The trip marks the Democratic president’s first visit to the state since entering the White House in January, days after the attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of then-President Donald Trump.

His appearance in Columbus falls on the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act being signed into law. Biden plans to highlight how the relief legislation will lower health care costs for many families.

It’s part of the administration’s public relations blitz to help people understand how the massive relief bill can ease their financial suffering. Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and first lady Jill Biden are all traveling to promote the plan and remind people that Republican lawmakers opposed it.

Ohio is a former swing state that has tacked strongly Republican in the past two presidential elections. Trump won the state twice by more than 8 percentage points.
